Ok, so I've finally gotten around to posting one of these vids to share...
I've been pretty flatout for the first 5 days of this program so I haven't had time to share anything yet...
Here's what I did in the later hours of wednesday... Spent no more than 15mins keying it...
I found that while the first half is quite smooth, when I tried to speed up the bones in the second half (only a 5 second clip, so last two secs or so) the bones would sometimes 'slide' from one key to the next... not 'follow' the sine wave...
I found I could refine and correct this by adjusting the rotation values... or sticking an extra key in if i wanted to...
It's really rough.. and only animated on '5's so it could be heaps better but I'm trying to practice blocking out a quick animation pass... getting more down in shorter time.
great going buddy..!!!! Yes ur right.. the first half is pretty smooth for a 3 bone fk chain..!! the second half also cud hav been close enough if u wud hav hit the right key poses at extremes...i.e,, if u cud fill up the line for eg: at 0:04 on the 4th peak..! nice one..!!! i cudnt do the exercise today and its already 23:00 hrs here....yaawwnn.. time to sleep.. c ya tomorrow..!!
Yeah I was thinking about it today... The "sliding" effect might have been avoided if i had been thinking more about the movement of each keyframe... concentrating on the extremes like you mention, rather than just blasting through it.
D.
I just tried to animate this ball along the sine wave....tried to get the weight but not sure about the rotations...!! chk this out.... critiques are absoluetly welcome....!! go ahead..!!!
