Hey all, this an animation I've been working on. I'm calling it done for now, but I would love critiques on it. It's a heavy box lift.

Congratulations on that very fine piece of physical animation. How long have you taken for that one, I wonder?
In order to give you crique on anything (which is quite hard) I'd say that the box seems to be heavier when its on the ground than when he's lifting it up.

woha...nice piece...congrats mate..
In some areas i realized the the box dosent move at all!
frame 90 - 109..see if u can slightly rotate the box..given the weight it has..it cant remain still..i saw it at some more places...somewhere around 465 i felt the left leg a bit IKed...at 544 adding a breakdown would help i believe..box just goes still there..let it favor the force..
these are some really minor issues and beleieve me..you've done a great job here..pulling out such exercise with precision is always difficult..have u used reference for this?

This is a really nice piece of work!

I also noticed a few areas where the box seems to come to an unnatural halt. Frames 62-68 it seems to rest on nothing as he readjusts his grip on it.

Maybe do another animation pass on this and this time focus on the box affecting his weight. Really push his pelvis around to counter the box pulling him in its direction.

wolle, I didn't really keep track of how long it took me, quite a while I'm sure! I've gotten the comment from other people about the box looking heavier on the ground too. I will definitely work on that.

sandy_maith, thank you very much for such specific comments! I will check the animation for all the stuff you mentioned and clean it up more. I definitely used reference. I actually shot myself picking up a box on two separate occasions, and kind of spliced together the parts I liked from both. I also watched box lifts from other good animators to see how they did it.

thadeej, I will check frames 62-68, I will definitely go back and try to make the box affect his weight more.
