Hey Tom, it looks great!

About posting youtube videos, you should just be able to paste the embed code and have it work. I'm still looking into this.

One thing I felt about your pencil test was that there is a little bit too much happening.

At about -9 seconds he has a nice gesture out with his palms down (for 'let him go'), then he brings his hands back together and near his chest for 'see him' and then back out for 'fly'.

I would collapse this into one gesture. Have him put his hands out palm down for 'when you let him go' then simply rotate his hands so his palms are facing up for 'see him fly' - mainly the fly part.

When we offer our hands to someone in gesture, the position of our hands says a LOT about our intentions.

Palm down generally means we are telling the person something, either fact or an order - relating an experience.

Palm up generally means we are offering something to the listener. In this case we are gesturing the act of freeing something, and describing that with a gesture of offering.

I'd also let that gesture float heavenwards a little to emphasize the point (you already have the second gesture higher, which is great, now just rotate the palms upward).

Incidentally, palms up is scientifically known as 'Supination' and palms down is known as 'pronation'.

Great work!

My favorite parts of this are the arm swings on "dead excitin" and the pause on his mouth after "LV." The quick arm swing contrasts the relatively slowish movement of the rest of the short. Very nice contrast.

Other than that, I like the hand gestures throughout the short, and the overlapping action on his head when he turns to the side to talk to her more directly.

I'd really like to see it after you put it into Maya.
